Lonely Winter Weekends

It seems I've started a trend of only blogging on weekends. I'm not quite sure why this is, but I'd like to think it's because I'm busy doing homework or socializing during the week. It seems like I've resorted to blogging when there's nothing else to do, and that's sad, because I like this blog. I decided I'm going to update it more often. Especially now that I'm getting serious about my music. (I might even start a separate blog for that, but for now it'll just all be on here...)

Last weekend, I got a ticket. I don't know if I mentioned that in my last blog post, but in case I didn't, there you go. It was cheaper than I thought it was going to be, but that doesn't change the fact that my insurance is going to sky rocket.

This week has been interesting weather-wise down in this podunk town. It's really quite warm mid-day but FREEZING every other time. Because of that, some cool ice formations have come to be. Like this one:

I thought that was pretty cool. So cool in fact, that I used that image in my flyer I made for my upcoming show!

Speaking of which, It's on Friday, February 27th at Mojo's Cafe in Ogden. It's an acoustic night and there's a lot of other good people playing, so if you can, you should come. (Whoever reads this besides my mom... haha.)

So there's a flyer for it. Okay, I don't know what else to say. Besides I beat Zelda: Ocarina of Time and am now halfway through Zelda: Majora's Mask. (Nintendo64 kicks butt!)

Also, here's a link to My Solo Project's web page. check it out if you get a minute. (Again, I don't know who reads this besides my mom, but I'd rather be safe than sorry...)

Okay I'm WAY bored. I think I might go to sleep.

President's Day Weekend

Even though the weekend is technically over, I'm still at home, because I start classes late on Tuesdays, and I worked on Monday. This weekend has gotten me excited over a lot of things, which I'm going to list off.

1. To work again.
I didn't realize how much I get paid for a day's work at my job, and although it's really really repetitive and boring, I can always find new things to be interested in. For example, today I found a camera that I had never seen before.

This is how every aisle is. Just a big long conveyor belt, and I push boxes on those rollers and pick products off the shelves. It's like I'm grocery shopping, but only for general merchandise, for 10 hours.

2. To get my tax return.
It's not as big as I had hoped, but any money is better than no money for me in this time of my life.

3. To record my album with Mason.
I really feel like my music career will take off once I get my album recorded. Plus, I love performing and recording. I've wanted to have an audio record of all of the songs I've ever written for a very long time.

Anyway, it's been a long weekend. My feet hurt really bad from being at work for the first time in a long time, but it's a good hurt. It feels like accomplishment! (And money!) I really need to learn that when I'm home to do my laundry the FIRST DAY, so I'm not staying up until almost one trying to get it done.

Hopefully I don't die on the car ride home tomorrow, either from sleep deprivation or this "big storm" that's supposed to hit sometime...

Near Past, Definite Present, and Close Future

I love my family.

I'm really lucky to have such a great family who loves everyone in it and cares about everyone. It's so nice to be able to see them.

Today was my youngest cousin's first birthday. He is THE MOST ADORABLE kid on the planet. He's always so good and never cries or gets upset. He's always smiling and wanting to play. He makes my day.

I also love going out to eat with my family when I'm up in North Ogden, or Salt Lake, or just closer to home than my podunk temporary home called Ephraim. (Bleh) Tonight I went to Su Casa and it was delicious. I forgot how I can't stop myself from eating chips there once I start. (Like at Bella's I do the same thing.)

Now it's not very late and it's a Saturday. I miss Sarah, and I hate that she forgot her phone charger, because to call her I have to call her house phone! (Yeah, I know right? How pathetic is it that I'm so used to getting ahold of people by cell phone that it's a challege and inconvenience to call their house phone!) At least I got to hear her sweet voice for a little bit, though.

Next weekend is going to be pretty dang fun. On Friday, I'm (crossing my fingers) going to stand in with Devin and Corey's band Season's Extreme when they play with Joshua James in Manti. They decided that they wanted a bass player and a keyboard player because every other band that's playing has a whole band, not just two guys. Even though it's just going to be this one show, I'm still really excited about it, and if any of you who read this are going to (doubtfully) be close to Manti on Friday, you should check out this show, because it's going to be amazing.

The Past Two Weeks

I took a one-day excursion up north to get new retainers and realized that my orthodontists is VERY straight forward and to the point. (In other words he's mean.) At least now my teeth are straight. It was a real let-down just going home for one day, but it was still nice to see my family.

School school school. Pretty much sucks. A construction crew demolished every tree on campus pretty much to make way for the new library, which was disappointing, but I got some cool pictures of the trees before they were torn down so that was nice.

So these were some of the trees in a nice little courtyard type thing with a fountain in the middle. It was really pretty. Now it's just ugly and brown and fenced off.

Saturday...
I carpooled to Salt Lake with two of my roommates and two girls.
It's a pretty tight fit getting five college students into a Pontiac Grand Am but we managed.
We hit some HORRIBLE traffic on the way there and had to back track through West Jordan and Sandy (MORE HORRIBLE traffic.) Then i helped my grandparents and my Aunt and Uncle with some Saturday chores and they gave me a little money so I could afford to go to a concert that night, which just so happened to be at Studio 600 in Salt Lake which is a really nice venue. It's relatively new and they have AWESOME bathrooms and a decent sound system and a really nice light system. I wouldn't mind playing there someday. I went up because my good buddies Devin and Corey (AKA Season's Extreme) were playing there. They opened for The Foreground and Allred. They did really good. I didn't stay for anyone besides Season's Extreme because Josh (who met me in SLC and became my ride) wanted to leave. I did too kinda so that's okay. Then all the Ephraimites who came to SLC to see Season's Extreme all went to IHOP then headed back down to that podunk town around midnight.
And before Josh came down to SLC I had him get my N64 from my house and bring it down, so we played that until 3 AM then CRASHED.

Sunday... Superbowl... Sunday.... Ugh...
Living in the most popular apartment in this complex has its perks at times, but the Superbowl was definitely not a perk. I have one word for you. MESS. I am never hosting another football fan-filled party again. What's so great about screaming at the TV, anyway? I just played 007 the entire game and watched the commercials. Then Josh left at freaking midnight and drove all the way home! He's crazy but he made it back okay so that's good.

Now it's the beginning of a new and busy week, so hopefully I can get through it okay. I have FOUR tests to take at the end of this week so that's gonna suck horribly. Anyway, you are now up to speed.

See that? That's what boredom looks like.
