Playing Catch Up

OH BOY has it been a while since I've written on this thing. I have a lot to catch up on, and most of it is going to be based around pictures, so I hope no one minds.

These were all pictures I took on a day of a GIANT snow storm which just pummeled our neighborhood. We live on a mountain bench so clouds just get trapped and mercilessly dump their snow on us.

This one is a comparison of the snow piled up next to my car.

This looked cooler looking at it in real life rather than through my crappy camera phone, but it shows how much snow is on the roof, despite the fact that we have heat tape.

Now this is a life size comparison of me vs. the snow pile. Notice it's taller than me. It was crazy. But I'm not I promise. I know I was wearing shorts but that's because I had work.

Okay, now it's just some random pictures.
I cleaned and organized my music nook in my basement, and it looks pretty sweet. I swear I'm the only person that can get as excited as I do over rearranging things like me...

This was right around dusk. The sun is setting behind this cloud in the west, and it was breathtaking, I just had to stop my car and snap this one.

So there's the photo catch up. As for the actual catch up, I'm not really feeling up for it... Groan. I'm on spring break right now. It's really nice to just be able to take some time off from school and relax, although I'm hardly relaxing. I'm working a full time schedule this week, and I have a show. OH which reminds me... I might have already put this up but oh well.

This is the flyer for my show this Friday. If anyone who reads this can come, it'll be really really fun!

OOOKK anyways... I think that's all for now.

Lonely Winter Weekends

It seems I've started a trend of only blogging on weekends. I'm not quite sure why this is, but I'd like to think it's because I'm busy doing homework or socializing during the week. It seems like I've resorted to blogging when there's nothing else to do, and that's sad, because I like this blog. I decided I'm going to update it more often. Especially now that I'm getting serious about my music. (I might even start a separate blog for that, but for now it'll just all be on here...)

Last weekend, I got a ticket. I don't know if I mentioned that in my last blog post, but in case I didn't, there you go. It was cheaper than I thought it was going to be, but that doesn't change the fact that my insurance is going to sky rocket.

This week has been interesting weather-wise down in this podunk town. It's really quite warm mid-day but FREEZING every other time. Because of that, some cool ice formations have come to be. Like this one:

I thought that was pretty cool. So cool in fact, that I used that image in my flyer I made for my upcoming show!

Speaking of which, It's on Friday, February 27th at Mojo's Cafe in Ogden. It's an acoustic night and there's a lot of other good people playing, so if you can, you should come. (Whoever reads this besides my mom... haha.)

So there's a flyer for it. Okay, I don't know what else to say. Besides I beat Zelda: Ocarina of Time and am now halfway through Zelda: Majora's Mask. (Nintendo64 kicks butt!)

Also, here's a link to My Solo Project's web page. check it out if you get a minute. (Again, I don't know who reads this besides my mom, but I'd rather be safe than sorry...)

Okay I'm WAY bored. I think I might go to sleep.

President's Day Weekend

Even though the weekend is technically over, I'm still at home, because I start classes late on Tuesdays, and I worked on Monday. This weekend has gotten me excited over a lot of things, which I'm going to list off.

1. To work again.
I didn't realize how much I get paid for a day's work at my job, and although it's really really repetitive and boring, I can always find new things to be interested in. For example, today I found a camera that I had never seen before.

This is how every aisle is. Just a big long conveyor belt, and I push boxes on those rollers and pick products off the shelves. It's like I'm grocery shopping, but only for general merchandise, for 10 hours.

2. To get my tax return.
It's not as big as I had hoped, but any money is better than no money for me in this time of my life.

3. To record my album with Mason.
I really feel like my music career will take off once I get my album recorded. Plus, I love performing and recording. I've wanted to have an audio record of all of the songs I've ever written for a very long time.

Anyway, it's been a long weekend. My feet hurt really bad from being at work for the first time in a long time, but it's a good hurt. It feels like accomplishment! (And money!) I really need to learn that when I'm home to do my laundry the FIRST DAY, so I'm not staying up until almost one trying to get it done.

Hopefully I don't die on the car ride home tomorrow, either from sleep deprivation or this "big storm" that's supposed to hit sometime...

Near Past, Definite Present, and Close Future

I love my family.

I'm really lucky to have such a great family who loves everyone in it and cares about everyone. It's so nice to be able to see them.

Today was my youngest cousin's first birthday. He is THE MOST ADORABLE kid on the planet. He's always so good and never cries or gets upset. He's always smiling and wanting to play. He makes my day.

I also love going out to eat with my family when I'm up in North Ogden, or Salt Lake, or just closer to home than my podunk temporary home called Ephraim. (Bleh) Tonight I went to Su Casa and it was delicious. I forgot how I can't stop myself from eating chips there once I start. (Like at Bella's I do the same thing.)

Now it's not very late and it's a Saturday. I miss Sarah, and I hate that she forgot her phone charger, because to call her I have to call her house phone! (Yeah, I know right? How pathetic is it that I'm so used to getting ahold of people by cell phone that it's a challege and inconvenience to call their house phone!) At least I got to hear her sweet voice for a little bit, though.

Next weekend is going to be pretty dang fun. On Friday, I'm (crossing my fingers) going to stand in with Devin and Corey's band Season's Extreme when they play with Joshua James in Manti. They decided that they wanted a bass player and a keyboard player because every other band that's playing has a whole band, not just two guys. Even though it's just going to be this one show, I'm still really excited about it, and if any of you who read this are going to (doubtfully) be close to Manti on Friday, you should check out this show, because it's going to be amazing.

The Past Two Weeks

I took a one-day excursion up north to get new retainers and realized that my orthodontists is VERY straight forward and to the point. (In other words he's mean.) At least now my teeth are straight. It was a real let-down just going home for one day, but it was still nice to see my family.

School school school. Pretty much sucks. A construction crew demolished every tree on campus pretty much to make way for the new library, which was disappointing, but I got some cool pictures of the trees before they were torn down so that was nice.

So these were some of the trees in a nice little courtyard type thing with a fountain in the middle. It was really pretty. Now it's just ugly and brown and fenced off.

Saturday...
I carpooled to Salt Lake with two of my roommates and two girls.
It's a pretty tight fit getting five college students into a Pontiac Grand Am but we managed.
We hit some HORRIBLE traffic on the way there and had to back track through West Jordan and Sandy (MORE HORRIBLE traffic.) Then i helped my grandparents and my Aunt and Uncle with some Saturday chores and they gave me a little money so I could afford to go to a concert that night, which just so happened to be at Studio 600 in Salt Lake which is a really nice venue. It's relatively new and they have AWESOME bathrooms and a decent sound system and a really nice light system. I wouldn't mind playing there someday. I went up because my good buddies Devin and Corey (AKA Season's Extreme) were playing there. They opened for The Foreground and Allred. They did really good. I didn't stay for anyone besides Season's Extreme because Josh (who met me in SLC and became my ride) wanted to leave. I did too kinda so that's okay. Then all the Ephraimites who came to SLC to see Season's Extreme all went to IHOP then headed back down to that podunk town around midnight.
And before Josh came down to SLC I had him get my N64 from my house and bring it down, so we played that until 3 AM then CRASHED.

Sunday... Superbowl... Sunday.... Ugh...
Living in the most popular apartment in this complex has its perks at times, but the Superbowl was definitely not a perk. I have one word for you. MESS. I am never hosting another football fan-filled party again. What's so great about screaming at the TV, anyway? I just played 007 the entire game and watched the commercials. Then Josh left at freaking midnight and drove all the way home! He's crazy but he made it back okay so that's good.

Now it's the beginning of a new and busy week, so hopefully I can get through it okay. I have FOUR tests to take at the end of this week so that's gonna suck horribly. Anyway, you are now up to speed.

See that? That's what boredom looks like.

The Weekend

My weekend was pretty pointless. I came home with Sarah because we were going to go to two farewells on Sunday, but she ended up actually traveling back south PAST Ephraim to see her extended family on Saturday, so that didn't happen.

I had NO interest in going to the farewells without her, so my weekend was pretty much wasted on Wii Music. For any of you who have a Wii, I would HIGHLY recommend this game. There's tons to do and if you're into music as much as I am, it's totally fun to create your own styles of songs. Seriously, I love this game so much that I played it on Sunday from the moment I woke up until the moment I fell asleep, taking a break only for lunch and dinner.

My mom made some really good food while I was there too, so I guess my weekend wasn't that wasted, because I got to eat some of my favorite meals she makes.

So here I am again, back at school. Ready for another week. Hopefully I keep my work out routine up, even though I forgot my running shoes at home.

And hopefully my shifts will stop being canceled so I can make some money.

Uneventful

Today was pretty uneventful. In fact, it was so uneventful that I'm not satisfied with today at all. The only thing significant that I did today was take a physiology test. Luckily I felt pretty good about it.

I shouldn't have set my alarm for seven, because my first class is at ten on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and I just hit snooze for two hours. Believe it or not I woke up late. I had time to whip up some breakfast, but in doing so I forgot to shower. (A consequence my nose is paying for right now.) I then went to learn about saving lives, and had to find pulses on people. It wasn't very fun. That was the only class I had today, and since I'm heading home for the weekend tomorrow, I had to take my physiology test today instead of tomorrow. I don't know why such a small school has most of their classes schedule two days to take their tests on. I mean, who has so many things going on down here that they can't show up to take a test on one day? I think that's funny, but I've benefited by it so I really shouldn't be complaining.

While studying for my physiology test, I fell asleep on my book (again) for two hours. My face hurt when I woke up. The tests are in a pretty weird layout, there was 44 true/false and multiple choice questions, about 20 fill in the blank and a bonus essay question. That's nice for me because I'm really good at remembering the first letter of a term, so when I see it as a choice on a multiple choice question, it's easier for me to single it out.

After that I had some down time before work. I wasn't too excited to go in because my shift had been canceled the two days before today, so I figured they were just going to cancel it again, but they didn't, so I finally got to earn some money. There was probably only like 20 people there (much different than the 80 it can actually support) which was nice because it was quiet. But an hour into my shift the loudest person in the ENTIRE world decides to come sit in the space right next to me. UGH it was annoying. I ended up getting sent home anyway even though I was at 120% PR (Production Rate). My boss told me it was because they needed less hours. Dang economy.

After hanging out with Sarah for about three or four hours, I'm sitting here in my room listening to about 15 people screaming at Star Wars Episode III. (This is where my ear plugs come in handy.) Hopefully it doesn't take to long to get to sleep, because tomorrow's a busy day.
